Hi, I’m Dr. Andrea Mattison, PT, DPT, and I’m here to help kids find relief from constipation. Yes, you heard that right—my specialty is supporting children with tummy troubles, and my mission is to ensure every child has a happy, healthy gut.

You may recognize me as @tummytroubles.dpt on social media, but outside of being a physical therapist, family is everything to me. Becoming a mom has been the greatest blessing of my life, and it’s the heart of why I do this work.

Over the years, my career has focused on helping children with a variety of challenges, including chronic pain, pelvic dysfunction, trauma, and more, using a combination of manual therapy and trauma-informed care. I find it incredibly rewarding to make a difference in kids’ lives through physical therapy.

At PLAY Family Wellness, we focus on four key areas for healthy tummies and constipation prevention:

Good posture supports healthy digestion and can help relieve constipation.

L: Lifestyle

A balanced lifestyle—featuring physical activity, plenty of water, and a fiber-rich diet—plays a big role in preventing constipation.

A: Activity

Simple activities like stretching or tummy massages can boost digestion and ease constipation. Heck, even just PLAYing can help as well!

Y: Yourself

As a caregiver, it's important to listen to your child's body, establish consistent routines, and also take care of your own well-being. Managing your own stress and energy is key to supporting your child’s digestive health.
